Matthew Fam

 

Matthew works at the intersection of the Anglophone Global South and Environmental Humanities, with subfields of Southeast Asia, Postcolonialism, Infrastructure, and Indigenous Studies. His dissertation project examines land reclamation (coastal expansion or the building of artificial islands) through Southeast Asian literary works.  

 

Prior to graduate studies, Matthew worked in Arts Education, Theatre, and Advertising in Singapore. Classes taught include: Introduction to Asian American Studies, Global Consciousness and Literature, Indian Cinema in Context, Early Masterpieces of Western Culture, Modern Masterpieces of Western Culture, Viking Mythology, and Grimm’s Fairy Tales in Context.
