Professor Waïl Hassan’s book Arab Brazil: Fictions of Ternary Orientalism (Oxford University Press, 2024) receives Honorable Mention for 2025 Albert Hourani Book Award (Middle East Studies Association). The book has just appeared in Portuguese as O Brasil árabe: ficções do orientalismo ternário, translated by José Luís Jobim (Editora Universidade Federal Fluminense / Edições Makunaima, 2025).
